According to Matt Cutts (Head of Spam Team in Google) Guest blogging is dead for SEO purpose only. Guest post was very popular link building technique among SEOs from past many years. It was one of the reliable source of link building and off page SEO techniques. It is clear with the symptoms in Google’s update that guest blogging SEO technique is almost dead now.
It seems that Google and other search engines become more restrictive for SEOs. Google is hitting on link building techniques one by one. I am not saying that you can’t post guest blogs on reputed blogs, but be careful while putting your dofollow links in guest posts. Google is working on guest post link building techniques and soon it will come out with common SEO link building techniques.
The guest post link building techniques are very common for spammers. Once again I repeat that if you are passionate about guest posts and you build your audience with guest posts on other blogs. You can carry on with that but only for traffic and trust building. Matt cutts said that it will be good if post a blog with nofollow links or posting links to quality sites as a vote may not impact your blog.
