Login to Google Search Console Account and Follow this Technical SEO Checklist Step by Step Guide

Know your preferred domain – Set your preferred domain as or Other URL should redirect to your preferred domain. This redirection type should be 301 (Permanent)

Check Important Messages in Search console – Read latest and important messages in Google’s search console account. Resolve these issues as soon as possible.

Check Crawl Errors – Click tab “Crawl” then click crawl errors in google’s search console. This is the first thing you should focus to resolve. Resolve all error response codes such as 500 internal server error, soft 404, 404 errors etc.

Fetch and Render as Google – Check fetch and render website feature in fetch as google. You should resolve all high priority rendering issues in search console. Make sure all important pages are crawlable. Find pages, CSS, JS and images restricted from indexing. With crawlability audit, you can find list of all blocked pages and resources.

Test Robots.txt file – Your robots.txt file should be accessible at website root example – Test your robots.txt file, allow or disallow URLs directory you want in your website.

XML Sitemap Errors – Check for XML sitemap errors in search console. If it display errors in your website’s xml sitemap file. Resolve these issues ASAP. Also fix slow performing pages.

Do HTML Improvements – Click “Search Appearance” >> HTML improvements in search console. Resolve duplicate title, short title, duplicate description, short description issues in search console.

Check Internal Linking – Check internal links of top target pages. These pages should be easily accessible from important URLs.

Check External Links or Links to Your Site – Know webpages and domains from where your webpages are linked. If you find any low quality website which can impact your website SEO. Use disavow tool and disavow that URL or domain.
